Our Society is seeking community support to save St. Michael the Archangel Church in Tresckow, Pennsylvania. This church has been partially closed since 2008, through a restructuring plan of the Diocese of Allentown. Because we have been advised by the Diocese of Allentown that the maintenance of the church can no longer be sustained, we are embarking on a quest to purchase the church from the diocese and continue its current appearance and existence as a permanent chapel related to the Catholic Church and as a historical icon in the Hazleton area.

This process required our society to register with the Pennsylvania Department of State as a non-profit corporation and to obtain designation as a non-profit entity with the IRS under a Section 501(c)(3). Both of these prerequisites have been achieved.

St. Michael’s Church is located at 16 South Chestnut Street in Tresckow, Pennsylvania. The current brick structure was dedicated on May 30, 1927, having replaced an original wooden building dedicated on September 7, 1908.

We are now embarking on a solicitation to raise the funds necessary to purchase the church from the diocese and initiate necessary repairs to protect the structure of the building. Because of our non-profit designation, all contributions are tax deductible. A receipt including our Employer ID Number (EIN) will be provided to each donor.
